How fast do Windmill palms grow!?
This is one of the most common questions I get from clients & it’s a tough one to answer. It really depends on the environmental conditions & soil quality. So let’s look at ideal & not so ideal conditions.
Full sun/Fertile soil , 8″-12″ per year
Shade/Poor soil , 2″ – 6″ per year
The soil conditions in Raleigh are a lot different than Fayetteville or Clayton. If you are unsure on how to plant your palms you can check out our “planting guide” under the menu button or feel free to call us, we are happy to help! 🙂

Here’s some pictures of annual growth you might expect to see with your palm with good growing conditions. Take note of the years, trunk size, and crown (fronds) 🌴
I hope the pictures above help give you an idea of the possible growth rate of your palm. Note, that applying fertilizer in the Spring and ample amounts of water during the warmer months will also help your palm grow at a faster rate. A little love & care goes a long way ! 🌴👍
